Our team at Halo is constantly testing the boundaries of commercial furniture design with Tim Oulton leading the team as International Design Director. The team, based in the UK and Hong Kong, are influenced by their own rich industry experience, and draw inspiration from cultural diversity and regular global travel.
When it comes to creating the right balance of tradition and innovation in an iconic piece of furniture, every bolt, every stitch, every detail counts. Each product is handcrafted using only the best techniques and fabrications. This is a tribute to the company’s antique heritage. Knowledge of ageless craftsmanship and detail reverberated in every piece of furniture.
Halo spends hours fine-tuning each piece: leather is patiently subjected to intricate ageing techniques, with every product requiring seven stages of hand finishing by skilled craftsmen. Each product also represents a huge number of man hours which are necessary to achieve an aesthetic standard that ensures distinct individuality. Irregularities are protected rather than rejected and individuality is cherished rather than banished.
Patience, time and skill nurture each creation, leading to the perfection Halo strives to achieve.
Hand crafted using traditional techniques; each Halo piece is beautifully unique. We only use the finest quality cured hard and soft woods. We create solid pieces of furniture which have been designed to complement any home, being practical and with age, will wear well becoming part of your family.
Each item of furniture will have its own character. Each piece will have slightly different grain patterns. Variation in colour shading and grain between different products and within the same product can occur; this is a normal feature of wooden furniture.
Knots are a natural property of all real wood furniture; they do not affect performance, and add individuality to each piece.
All timber will display movement from season to season because of changes in atmospheric temperature and humidity. This occasionally may make drawer movement a little stiff, to ease movement simply rub a little candle wax on the drawer runners attached to the carcass of the furniture on either side of the drawer. We recommended that you do not place any of Halo’s solid wooden furniture in a conservatory or where exposed to extremes of temperature.
All our timber furniture has been finished using either a lacquer or wax, to protect the wood whilst maintaining its natural beauty. Our lacquered finish is extremely durable, which makes furniture easy to look after. To keep it looking its best simply polish regularly using a clean damp cloth. Waxed furniture is designed to fade, it’s completely normal. There is a quick and easy way you can help bring it back to life and encourage those natural grains to stand out. We recommend using a variety of ‘Fiddes Wax’.

Halo’s Classics trunk collection is a salute to the detailed construction of antique luggage and travel goods. We have captured the superb charm and enduring beauty of a period of romance and grace. Applied to furniture this detailing creates a unique and individual statement.
The decadence of the trunk ranges is an excellent example of combined skill and craftsmanship invested in the collection. Each piece has approximately 400 finishing pins, hand applied. The traditional sprung locks are of the finest quality. Every trunk typically requires 72 hours of labour to complete. Our attention to detail is a hallmark of luxury.
Halo has an established heritage in supplying extraordinary upholstery to create the very best in modern vintage living. Classic design details are reinterpreted to create a contemporary product that translates the heritage of its inspiration. The traditional charm of a leather armchair, the ageless beauty of an elegant sofa – every Halo piece reflects timeless, considered design as well as dedicated craftsmanship.
We are recognised for using the finest materials – stunning, uncorrected aniline leather, and rich, sumptuous fabrics that adorn high quality hard wood frames. Each piece of our leather has evolved through an intensive tanning process, where we treat the hide with natural oils and waxes to give its superior finish. Our leather maintains its natural characteristics, therefore no Halo sofa or armchair is exactly the same – making it unique to you.
We have our own tanning laboratory which allows us to offer a range of exclusive leather finishes unique to Halo. We are continuously experimenting with finishes and techniques to create new leathers.
